Ultimate Guide to Family Fun at Fundaes Arcade & Play Café

Finding the perfect spot that satisfies the energy of a toddler, the high expectations of a teenager, and the nostalgic cravings of a parent is no easy feat. Often, family weekend planning turns into a game of compromise—someone is always left out. However, tucked into the charming community of Old York Village in Chesterfield, New Jersey, is an indoor family entertainment center that solves this exact dilemma.

Fundaes Arcade & Play Café is an innovative, multi-attraction concept that packs high-tech virtual reality, classic arcade machines, a dedicated toddler soft play area, and a fully stocked old-school ice cream parlor all under one air-conditioned roof.

Whether you are trying to escape the summer humidity, looking for a rainy-day refuge, or planning an unforgettable kid’s birthday party in Burlington County, this guide breaks down why this venue has quickly become Central New Jersey’s ultimate destination for family fun.

The Evolution of the Modern Arcade: Nostalgia Meets Next-Gen Tech

For parents who grew up in the 1980s or 1990s, the word “arcade” triggers a wave of specific sensory memories: the smell of dark carpet, the neon glare of cathode-ray tube monitors, and pockets heavy with metal quarters. While home gaming consoles temporarily pulled players away from commercial entertainment spaces, the modern arcade has experienced a massive renaissance by offering experiences that simply cannot be replicated on a living room couch.

The gaming floor balances this timeless appeal by mixing physical, skill-based redemption games with cutting-edge digital experiences. Instead of fumbling with loose coins or paper tokens, the entire facility utilizes a seamless, rechargeable game card system. You simply load your card at a kiosk, tap to play your favorite machine, and watch your digital ticket balance accumulate automatically.

Here is a closer look at what awaits on the gaming floor:

• Immersive Motion Simulators & Shooters: Step into the action with high-octane racing simulators like Fast & Furious Supercars or team up on cinematic rail shooters like Jurassic Park and Terminator. These cabinets feature massive HD screens, reactive force-feedback seating, and surround-sound audio systems that make you feel like you are inside the movie.

• Cutting-Edge Virtual Reality (VR): The crown jewel of the digital lineup is the state-of-the-art virtual reality attraction featuring franchises like the chaotic and hilarious Rabbids. This ride pairs high-definition VR headsets with a motion-base platform, sending players on a wild, multi-sensory adventure that delivers plenty of thrills without being overwhelming for younger players.

• Redemption Games & Skill Challenges: From the timeless, rhythmic thud of Ice Ball (modern Skee-Ball lanes) to Connect 4 Hoops and Guitar Hero Arcade, there are plenty of ways to test your physical reflexes.

• The Ultimate Prize Counter: No true arcade experience is complete without the thrill of the win. The redemption counter is loaded with rewards, ranging from quick nostalgic candies to high-value prizes.

Safe Adventures: The Dedicated Soft Play Zone for Ages 6 and Under

One of the biggest pain points for parents with multiple children is finding an environment where older kids can stay engaged while toddlers remain completely safe. Traditional arcades can be visually overwhelming and chaotic for a three-year-old.

The dedicated Soft Play Zone is a brightly colored, heavily padded, enclosed playground custom-built for children ages six and under. It acts as an imaginative canvas where little ones can burn off energy, practice essential motor skills, and build physical confidence through independent play.

Safety is the absolute priority here. Every surface is wrapped in thick, impact-absorbing foam, and the layout encourages gentle movement like crawling, sliding, and balancing.

Furthermore, the zone is laid out with parents in mind. Instead of chasing your toddler through a sprawling maze, you can sit comfortably just steps away in the relaxed café atmosphere. Sip a hot espresso, catch up on work using the Wi-Fi, or chat with other local parents, all while keeping a clear, direct line of sight on your child as they explore.

Sweets & Treats: The Full-Service Ice Cream Parlor

The secret weapon of this entertainment hub is its integrated dessert café. Playing arcade games and navigating soft-play structures works up an appetite, and instead of settling for stale vending machine snacks, families can walk over to a full-service, premium ice cream counter.

The menu is a paradise for dessert lovers, featuring:

• 14+ Premium Hard Ice Cream Flavors: Ranging from classic rich vanilla and deep chocolate to rotating, seasonal specialties like Cream-Sicle Shakes during the hot summer months.

• Authentic Dole Whip: A massive hit for those with dietary restrictions or anyone looking for a refreshing, dairy-free alternative. Guests can regularly enjoy tropical staples like Pineapple and Cherry Dole Whip.

• Custom Confections: Beyond standard scoops, the café crafts massive specialty sundaes loaded with a wide variety of toppings, thick milkshakes, and classic soda floats.

The combination of premium desserts and immersive gaming creates an undeniable loop of fun: win a few rounds of air hockey, cash in your tickets for a prize, and celebrate your high score with a custom hot fudge sundae.

Weekly Promotions: Maximizing Your Family Entertainment Budget

Let’s face it—family outings can add up quickly. One of the reasons this Chesterfield hotspot has built such a loyal local following is its aggressive, budget-friendly weekday promotion calendar. By planning your visit around their weekly specials, you can unlock incredible value.

Note: Promotions are subject to change, so it is always a smart idea to check their official channels before heading out.

Additionally, the facility features an Arcade Rewards Program. When you sign up onsite with your email, you immediately receive a one-time bonus of $5 in free play. As you continue to visit, the rewards stack up: for every $100 spent on game cards, you earn an additional $10 in free play credited right back to your account.

Stress-Free Birthday Parties and Celebrations

If you are a parent, you know the stress of hosting a birthday party at home. Between the deep cleaning beforehand, the chaos of entertaining a dozen kids in an enclosed space, and the exhausting cleanup afterward, you rarely get to actually enjoy the milestone.

The facility has streamlined this process by establishing itself as the premier birthday party venue in Burlington County.

When you book a celebration here, a dedicated party coordinator handles the logistics from start to finish. The kids get structured, high-energy time on the arcade floor, access to the soft play area (if age-appropriate), and a private room to enjoy food and premium ice cream treats. Parents can sit back, snap photos, mingle with guests, and leave the sticky tables and trash completely behind.

Plan Your Visit: Location, Hours, and Practical Tips

Ready to round up the family for a day of gaming and sweet treats? The facility is conveniently located at 105 Saddle Way in Chesterfield, NJ 08515, right at the vibrant entrance of the Old York Village neighborhood.

To ensure you have the absolute best experience possible, keep these practical insider tips in mind:

1. Check the Calendar: If your primary goal is to play racing and shooting games without worrying about ticket counts, time your trip for Wednesday or Thursday to capitalize on the 90-minute unlimited pass.

2. Socks Are Mandatory: If your little ones are planning to explore the Soft Play Zone, remember to pack socks! For safety and sanitation, shoes are prohibited in the padded area, and bare feet are not allowed.

3. Register Your Card: The moment you purchase a physical game card (which has a minor $1 activation fee), register your email at the counter. Not only does this protect your balance if you happen to lose the physical card, but it also locks in your $5 registration bonus and plugs you directly into the rewards system.

At the end of the day, family time shouldn’t feel like a chore or a series of logistical compromises. By beautifully blending the nostalgia of a classic ice cream parlor with the high-octane energy of modern gaming and the safety of a toddler playground, this local treasure has created a magical, community-focused sanctuary. If you are ready to create unforgettable weekend memories, challenge your kids to a high-score battle, or simply indulge in a premium milkshake while your toddler safely plays, plan your next afternoon out at fundaesarcade.com and experience the coolest entertainment hotspot in New Jersey.
